*Feb 19th 2010 - Applecross*
Applecross Weekend ? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO As noted in the Club Runs dates list for 2010 (now avail' under Events). A weekend had been provisonally set aside sometime in June or July. The intention was for Big Dave; as per last years discussions; to be pulling this together. However, it appears he has been beaten to it by oor Keith.
May Weekend:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO As some of you may know there is a free lance bike journo' who lives there. He is pulling together an exclusive invite only bike weekend to specific bike clubs at the Applecross site. This means of course that places are limited. But Keith having been a regular at the site and the affable dude he is, has managed to secure the club some 16 places for the weekend, in a provisional booking of four of the Wig Wams exclusively for RBMCC.
NB: In case ye don't know; the bank holiday weekend is MAY Fri 28th to Mon 31st.
Costs an' what's on:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The Wig Wams will be £28.00 per night and sleep four in each. For those not good with numbers, this means you'll pay only £7.00 a night for a warm comfy bed... though if all male, possibly amidst some noxious aromas.
Arrival is expected on the Friday - with a ride out on the Saturday - a band on the Saturday night - and if wished, another ride out on the Sunday - with departure either Sunday or for most, the Monday. There will be barbecued grub available each evening and breakfasts in the wee cafe facility on site each morning; with each not at all pricey. Remember though, ye'll need moolah for other fuel - petroleum and o' course beer an' the like.
Other info' : OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Keith will be taking up a vehicle, so it's possible (I stress possible) that subject to asking nicely; some o' ye micht be able to arrange for yer gear (for which ye might read beer) to travel with him.
In short; it looks like a superb weekend with likely numbers limited to around 100 or so. As said, it is an invite only weekend... oh, and and just in case anyone from RBMCC is thinking of taking a tent. The nightly charge for each person is £7.00 - the same overall price as the Wam Wigs. Addtionally there is if wished, some B&B in the town and also the Applecross Hotel for the mair luxury dependent folks amongst ye; should anyone with sufficient wallet feel so inclined.
NB: Keith will be taking names on the night of the AGM with confirmed deposits needing to be be with him by the end of that week - as in Friday March 12th.
A final wee thought is for big Dave who may still wish to run a weekend away (Away Wahay 5). But no doubt we'll hear more on this at the AGM.

Feb 10th 2010 - Newsflash
Memberships :
Can all members please mind an have their monies for membership with them on night of AGM. It is much simpler and easier for the treasurer to collect and bank monies in this way. Obviously some NEW members may join through the year. This is unavoidable for them, but is not for members over years passed.
So all monies on the night of the AGM please... (this includes you Greig - this includes you Greig... er, added this twice Greig, as ye didn't manage yer £16 quid last year.)
Egg Run :
In case any of you noticed this annual event missing from our 2010 run calendar...
STATEMENT FROM EGG RUN ORGANISERS: Unfortunately we have decided not to continue organising the Easter Egg Run to Yorkhill Childrens Hospital. We have organised it from 1999 and seen it grow from 100 or so bikes leaving from Blythswood Square to 10,000 bikes, trikes, scooters, mopeds and even 1 or 2 cars. It has been a great pleasure and experience having delighted all the kids and raising several thousand pounds for the hospital over the years but we feel an event of this size really requires not only the skills and experience of professional event organisers but a bigger body of people with enough time to spare. The work commitments of all 3 of us have changed recently and we no longer have enough time to dedicate to the tasks in hand.
To those that have helped us over the years we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation. Without you the run would have stopped years ago... OOOOOOOOO
OOO....and here on behalf of all at RBMCC, may we say a hearty thanks to the three MAG members who made it happen - Cheers fine peeps. :-)

Feb 8th 2010 - AGM & CLUB Runs
Members will have recieived via e-mail a list of our club runs / weekends away etc. Have a look at this and do two things. First note the dates, but most important put yourself against a date for leading a run.
It's no' rocket science - ye pick a place ye fancy headin' and wae it, a route tae get there - easy. Ideally yer lookin' for a nice blend o' roads an' on yer recce... to confirm route, junctions, dodgy bits etc and tae pick somewhere that can serve yer mates some decent grub an' to arrange date an' approx time wae the place. As the Meerkat oan the tellie says; "...simples." Oh an' by the way, no' ower pricey or to fancy, as in nae lobster thermidor !
Once ye've picked a date, let me know before the AGM. Obviously it might be that a few dates are double booked ( I live in hope ) but that can be sorted at the AGM.
There has been a bit o' blether on not goin' to Kelso this year, other than for a Sunday Run... that'll be a point o' discussion at the AGM. The alternative is to make Dave's Applecross Weekend a bit more by taking the marquee there and staying in the wig wams; a fine weekend then. Another option might be for a club weekend at the Farmyard Party - click the link below - one o' many attractions for this, is that we get a free pitch as an affiliated club. Mind an' open the link an' have a look at the 'Frequently Asked Questions' section...ther's a wee grin or twa... :-)
Point is, if ye have oany beefs, moans or ideally positive ideas ye'd like tae share, then send them here tae me ahead o' the AGM. That way we micht be able tae have some kind o' hauf way reasonable AGM. No' that ah'm sayin' ther's too much wrong wae oor normal disorganised, free expression, shoutin', bawlin' an' laughin' version !
Try no' tae send all yer run lead offers and positive ideas at the wan time... oooooo jist in case the deluge blocks up ma e-mail ( I live in hope twice ).
See ye all at the AGM, if no' before....

Jan 22nd 2010 - TT Medical Costs
The
Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) is concerned by the proposed plan to end the
current reciprocal medical arrangements between the mainland and the Isle
of Man.
MAG has raised the issue that the Isle of Man TT races could suffer a drop
in attendance if visitors have to add medical insurance costs to their other
expenses.
MAG Chairman Paul Turner said: A visit to the Isle of Man TT can be
an expensive commitment as it is, the additional cost of medical cover could
be the straw that brakes the camels back for many riders.
MAG has contacted the Department of Health to determine the full reasoning
behind the initiative in order to determine the best way of bringing its influence
to bear on the issue.

Tyres an MOT's - Sept 2009
ooooooooooooooooooooooTyres:
One of our members; an older variety by the name o' John; was recently looking for tyres for his beemer. NB:As a wee by the way - BMW's are so nicknamed as anyone riding one finds embarrasment and associated face flush, unavoidable !
Anyway, back to tyres. He was looking for an OE replacement, essentailly just for the rear that was squared off a tad too much. I tried unsuccessfully to steer him towards the brilliant Dunlop Roadsmarts that do not square off due to their triple compound and are by mine and effectvely all pundits, the best sport touring tyre on the road.
But this would have entailed oor 'Auld John' forking out for TWO tyres and there was no way that was happening. he he he ! So OE it was. Now it was down to price and John put the feelers out across the club. Some did do some work and get him a few prices and others didn't... As for yer scribe, I pointed him to a few sources, one of which was Strathearn Tyres in Crieff.
This saved him £15 over any other price. This paid for his fuel there and back and with two further bonuses of, a scrubbed in tyre on arrival back home and brilliant bike roads, there an' back - what more do you want from a 'tyre' day.
PS: John says his bike is now handling better though admitted he is still riding with an everpresent beemer ! :-)
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooMOT's:
Yer scribe recently had to MOT the 'Black Boab' and so it goes, that there are a number of options in the locale. Choosing which isnae easy and will involve more than jist price. For example, you might be looking for yer MOT to focus on the right elements, as in safety and not on other matters unconnected; if you follow me. You might also like to have a bike blether while yer there....
Point was I managed all three at Florida MOT's, Shawbridge Industrial Estate - entrance opposite the Shell Garage on approach to the Pollok 'roundhouse' roonaboot on Nether Auldhouse Rd.
At only £25 the price is right and the above noted other needs apply, as does that Ali' (Alistair) the owner loves his bikes - bottom line is, yer onto a win win.

Images on Gallery - Aug 2009
One or two may have noticed a wee glitch or two on the Gallery links... ? OOOOOOO
This is being looked into by a top website technician and with nae little sense o' urgency, can a tell ye ! In short the man whit's on the case, is bustin' a gut to get things sorted. This all jist so's you can enjoy some images from this years runs.
In fact ah'd go so far as to say that any minute the gallery will be clickin' as it ought to and with a load more images uploaded from this year's runs to pep it up a bit.
Course then again, a could well be wrong and it will remain as is for the next month or two.... whid'ye think yersel' Twinloon... arf arf ! :-)
On words to go with the 'any day now' pictures from this year's Away Wahay. Watch this space, as somethin' ought to be comin' together in the next few weeks, mebbe !

Ach, ye know fine who ye are - so, see ye all this Monday comin' with moolah.

Who's goin' an' wher' sleepin'.... see HERE.
Luggage:Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo If yer so minded, the intention is for all attendees to bring their luggage down to yer scribe's hoosey in the week runnin up to goin' or otherwise, to bring it on the morning of the run. Yer luggage will then be carried up and back down again in Mrs Molly's car furra piddly couple o' quid, or mebbe a whole fiver if yer feelin' generous - best tae think o' it as a donation to a worthy cause... me. :-)
Friday:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Departure oo9.00 for 9.30am - So can all please arrive for 9.00am latest! O Arrival around ooooiiiii5.30pm - subject to anyone mebbe losing ther' keys o' course !

Nae doot ! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Givin' the roads an' the company, it'll be a fantastic weekend, particularly as there's no cars comin' other than the one carrying all the luggage and the one member who is unable to ride at the moment as a passenger.
I mean tae say, can ye imagine oamdi comin' in a car an' leein' ther' bike at hame ! iii A mean, fir fecks sake... whit kin' o' biker wid dae that... Tuono John !? :-)

Update 29th July
Route 66 - Breast Way Round
The charity day in Motherwell at Route 66 Rider Training (see below NEWS) was very well supported. On the day there was an average of 450 peeps there at any one time. So with all the comings and goings, there would be likely well over a 1000 kindly souls there on the day.
Incredibly the Breast Way Round ladies have raised to date (with able assistance from the odd three legger here an' there) the fine sum o' £35800, of which £1800 was raised on the day.
A fantastic effort from all concerned: Breast Way Round, all at Route 66, all the vendors and trades peeps, Strathclyde Police and all attending - give yerselfs a pat on the back.
Tricia, who works there and is a member of RBMCC, would like to say a big thank you to all and particularly for the members of RBMCC who made it along on the day. I think she said what a bunch o' bananas, or words to that effect. :-)

Updates 20th July 2009
1. Motherwell - 'Bike Meet'
This Saturday get yourself - that's ALL club members AND any other random readers, along to the Route 66 Rider Training Centre in Motherwell - ML1 1RU (see www.route66training.com) for directions.
From 12.00 to 4.00pm there is a fundraising event for MacMillan Cancer Support ably backed by the wonderful and life loving 'Breast Way Round' ladies - (see breastwayround.com).
The event is for an abso brilliant cause AND one where you can enjoy a free barbie - that'll be food an' not the doll ! Added to your grub, there will also be a live band, along with a custom bike display and loads of other bike orientated m'larkey.
NB: If attendin' and yer a member, then wear yer new RBMCC Club Apparel...o
This it's rumoured will likely be not embroidered, will have a bit too small font size and if it's a hoodie, will tend to have a middle o' the back print of our club's name ! :-) OO But heh, the next yinz will be fine...erm, probably. Have to say, quality material though, eh !.... he he he :-)
See ye all there then - an' by the way, I'll be sportin' a hoodie, as above ! :-)
2. Aberfeldy - Sunday's Club Run
Today (Monday) the route for Sunday's run was recce'd. One thing is, ther's some fine roads to enjoy peeps and no' like me eh, but not too many miles either: total distance is ONLY 219 miles.
So, ye'll be back in time for whatever ye might have planned for the later part o' yer Sunday. Grub stop is arranged, as is off road parkin' and heh, even loos available at near every stop - thought that's mostly for you Andy ! Main thing though is that any 'trickier' sections of road are noted an' are up to date on surfaces, or as near as can be. Ought to help a tad if noted prior to riding them.
By the way, weather for the recce said light rain and heavy scattered showers.... but riding all day was in leathers an' never had the oversuit on once !!!
Okay, on the way back between Amulree and Crieff some fair rain came down over the ten miles or so, but as stoppin' in Crieff for a pie an' beans, no worries. Once rollin' again the watter drops had gone and stayed that way. So more or less, no rain all day... in spite of over cautious weather forecasts. So, bare this tendency in mind when pondering what to do this weekend....
So see ye ALL on Sunday morn' then - 9.30 for 10.00am depart. OOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSee the full route, on the Club Runs page via the map link.

Updates 9th July 2009
1. Kelso
It's as home page indicates every man for thereself in heading down to Kelso. Given the varying finish times on Friday - some off, some working late etc - this is the best plan. Some folks are also intending turning up on the Saturday only.
It will not be hard to find our Marquee. Look for the three flagpoles flyin'... erm, now let me see. Say perm any two from three on the Saltire, Lion Rampant, Skeletons, IOM flags and o' course... our Club Flag (woo eee eh !) By the way, in case ye don't know what the clubs flag looks like, don't worry as you will once ye find us !
Not everyone is able to go, so have a drink an' a wee toast or twa, to those who couldnae make it - that'll be me then. :(
Enjoy !
an' on the offchance anyone survives.... an' is in any kinda o' a fit state to turn up Then ah'll see ye an' here the yarns on Monday at the club.
2. Clothing
There has been a last minute glitch or should I say technical hitch on the clothing. I'll say no more at the mo' as Raymie will be able to update ye all on what went belly up and on how or if its intended to fix it..... curious yet - (mebbes aye, mebbes naw !)
3. Contact details of members.....
If ye have been paying attention an' ye know how to access it, then ye'll have clocked that the latest members list is now available on the 'CONTACT' page. If though, as is likely, you do not know how to access this. Worry yersel not, as ah'll be sending round an e-mail with the info' in the next day or two.... ought tae be handee once all members can access it me thinks. :)
4. MAG Affiliation
For all members who have thus far been issued with a MAG affiliated member card: Please note that the CLUB MEMBERSHIP NUMBER is now available... (meaning I have found the letter that tells me what it is). So along with above info on how to access the members list - I'll also send you the club MAG number. But remember an' ask for a card though. Go to MAG's website to see how havin' a card an' number can benefit ye.

OOOOOUpdates 3rd July 2009
oooo1. Club Run Official (an' unofficial) 5th July
There are two options for a run this weekend. Please note that some are going to either location so anyone not sure... well yer free to choose, as both'll defo happen. But bear in mind that the club event as per planned is the scramble meeting. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOO 00o0a) Scottish Classic Racing MCC (Thornhill) - contact Mick for further info.Oooooo oiiiiiiiib) BSB Superbikes ooooooiiiiiiiioii(Knockhill) - contact Bill for further info.
The club run is down to Thornhill to take in the Scottish Classic Scrambling, oh aye ! Meeting point is Morrisons car-park at 9.30 for a 10.00am head off. OOOoooooooo NB: Alex Hood may be there to lead the run down, as was originally planned. But this is only if Alex has recovered from his eye op's. The stitches were taken out yesterday (stitches on his eye ? ) yeech... sounds a wee bit; "Oh ya baisturt that's effin sare !" But even if Alex for obvious reasons disnae make it, then 'Twinloon' will step in and lead the run down to Thornhill. Also worth noting that the scrambling will save a bob or two as entry will be under a fiver... as opposed to the thirty quid plus for the superbikes. Take a picnic an' huvva nice wee day oot listining an' watchin some old school scrambling - anyone remember Vic Allan and his battles with John Banks ?
Talking about Auld Gits :-) .... ye'll be able to see one of oor members ploughin' round near the front, an' right enough lookin' for a lead here or there. None other than Mr Brian Hamilton; a quality rider is the man Brian.
2. New Club Wear
The new Club 'T', Polo an' Hoodies are now ordered. But for those who see below design and think, I'd like one now, Raymie has thoughtfully ordered one or two spares.
So could ALL who have ordered PLEASE bring monies tonight or if not then next week (July 6th) abso' latest - approx' price for each (including new club patch) is:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
oooooooooooooooooooooooa) £11 for the 'T' shirt. ooooooooooooooooooooooooo, ooooooooooooooooooooooob) £13 for the Polo shirt.OOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooc) £15 for the Sweatshirt ooooooooooooooooooooooooo, oooooooooooooooooooooood) £16 for the Hoody.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOSee the embroidered back design here
NB: Club Patches coming with above, will be iron on, though best to also have them additionally sewn on. Intended for the front of each shirt, patches will now have an orange overlocked edge, as opposed to present black. This is to better define the edge of patch against black.
ooooooooooooo o3. Away Wahay
A wee thought for those putting money aside for Away Wahay. The total for all is now over the £600 pounds mark - the club deposit has been paid (£100) and all attendees confirmed.
NB: At the mo' four (4) members have put aside the £64 to cover their two nights B&B. All rooms are en-suite and the pub and restaurant serve affie fine grub; as they do also, a similarly fine breakfast... an' the bar's no' half bad either ! :-)
Finest roads in Scotland - please see map links in Club Runs table under Events - and yer weekend away lead will defo' be taking two sets of keys !
By the way... there is at the mo' one (1) spare bed - see Yer Gaz if ye'd like to go.
Oooooooooooooi4. Club Picture's
Due to the lack of Kodak moments taken by myself this year... I (Mick) need piccies.
So, can anyone who has taken photo's on any off this years run's, please send them to me, via e-mail or put them on a disc and deliver.
Soon after, I'll then add them to the 'Gallery' page.O

Rumours are spreading....
A 'reliable source' has informed Yer Scribe that one of our club members attended this weekends 'TAKE THAT' concert at Hampden Park.
As a club we would like to distance ourselves from any such association and further... let it be known, that no signed photo will be left unturned until we find the 'male member' responsible.
Once identified, the said individual can expect to be verbally abused frae aw angles and with no mercy whatsoever. It should also be stressed, that they will most definitely be reminded of their error of judgement for many years to come and at every opportunity possible.
Investigations are ongoing to clarify who exactly could have messed up so badly and brought the club into such disrepute. At the moment the only two clues we have to go on are; that they ride a yellow twin cylinder bike and that they may attempt to excuse and defend their decision as being directed by a wifely demand !
If anyone has any further evidence on who this person may be - please feel free to keep all discussion nice and open by posting a new topic thread on the forum pages.

PS: Apparently there's a new Glasgow based tribute group for Take That. oooo OiOiThey're calling themselves... Have Some O' This ! :-)

Change to this weekend's run - 14th June !
Just a wee newsflash to say oor Alex is busy recovering from an eye op'. So reality is that the run intended across to East Fortune for the Bob Mac classic meeting cannot now go ahead. However Gav' has stepped in and offered to lead a run to Oban.
The route is not as yet finalised though truth be told one bit likely is lunch in the Kilmartin Hotel - why not also pop across the road into the museum. Not as daft as may seem - you'll learn the history of the Scots and the Kingdom of Dalriada - cool or whit !
As norm' - 9.30 for 10.00am... be there or be somewhere less good. :)
*********************************************************************************
TrackDay
Just a wee update to see if you have the time... yer web scribe is heading for a tracknight at Knockhill next Thursday 28th - 6.00 until 8.00pm.
If you have the time or interest, get yourself there - should be a laugh and with some craic in the pits atween rides roon. It's an open session so time on is as we like and I'll be amidst a load o' Ducatis on ma poormans Honda Hornet 9. :-)
By the way, on the off chance you are interested in a run round the track yourself, then you'll have to be there for 5.20pm - at the mo' session places are fully booked but heh maybe a few might not turn up.
The point is, the night is run courtesy of Ducati Glasgow and Knockhill - so you'll need to be lucky and ask nice an' all that... but heh never say never, eh !?
A wee fact is yer web laddie - yon who has been well too busy of late to add news and or change here, is now seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Watch this space...

Bikesafe
With considerable persistance and a more than a wee bit o' generosity from the boys in blue, it has been possible to arrange a Strathclyde Police Bikesafe night for Rollin Bones MCC with a time and date as follows....
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOApril 21st (Tuesday) 7.30pmOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOiii North Halfway Community Hall, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO23 Graham Avenue, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHalfway, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOiCambuslang G72 7RB B
There is a free prize draw of a substantial prize (I jest not) along with other possible freebies, though the latter are by no means certain - the man in blue coming on the night is working on it - wot no pens, tch, surely not ! :)
There will be a DVD presentation and other aspects to what will undoubtedly be a grand club night and a wee bonus over our usual blether and general slagging of each other - fun though that is ! By the way, it's also worth mentioning that no matter how any of us reading this views their riding credentials, we will all benefit from attending....
OOOOOOSO COULD ALL MEMBERS (paid and unpaid) PLEASE ATTEND OOOOO OOOiLIKEWISE ANYONE READING THIS WHO WOULD LIKE TO COME ALONG. ooYOU ARE ALSO WELCOME AND IT'LL PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHECK OUT O iOTHE iCLUB TO SEE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US - IF WE LIKE YOU THAT IS :)

Egg Run
OOOOO Given cancellation of this years MAG organised annual EGG Run. OOOOO OOOOOOOOOooThere is a possibility of an un-official parade run. OOOOOOOOOO OO OOOOOOIf there is such a run could ALL members of RBMCC NOT participate.
This is on the grounds of safety for participants and other road users and is based on the understanding that an unofficial parade will have no police or recognised marshalling. Concern has therefore been raised that without this coverage for traffic lights etc, then possible outcomes could only harm bikings overall image and/or any public support for the MAG EGG Run for 2010.
However, it may well still be possible to take eggs and/or toys etc to the hospital. But please check with the hospital to confirm if there are any organised arrangements in place to receive them.
NB: All monies can be donated directly with added option of gift aid - please see MAG Egg Run website donations page on http://glasgoweggrun.mag-uk.org/Donations.php

LLatest update....
Memberships: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO As of todays date (7th March) 17 members have now paid their membership with another 11 highly probables and then the slightly less in number, improbables. This whid be them whit hisnae been seen for a ween o' time at a club night, or for that matter, on a bike. :-) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo So could those who have not yet paid, please make the effort to pay their membership in the next two to three weeks - like by APRIL 6th club night, please. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Some of course may feel they traditionally pay at the first official run. But this is not until the end of April. More importantly, the earlier date is simpler and easier for your treasurer to deal with. Apparently, he's no' good at this lookin' efter money malarky ! So can all those intending to pay, please pay by the date above; cheers.
NB:If you're not as yet and never have been a member; but are reading this and have half an interest. Then feel free to come along - one or two already have. Either contact Raymie or Twinloon (Mike) via 'Contact' page, where you'll find not unsurprisingly contact details and you might enjoy a gander at the 'About' page.
New Club Bank Account: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO This is near to being opened, pending ID's being with the bank from the two additional signatories (Raymie an' Twinloon). Monies are however temporarily banked in Gaz's own bank - woo hoo ! Word is, he may yet run off wae da moolah and treat himsel' to a pair of Dunlop Roadmasters - oh aye, well tempted ! :-)
MAG Affiliation: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO As soon as the afore noted Club Bank Account is re-opened at new bank, then this will be actioned in the week a cheque book is available - see below minutes of AGM.
Collections:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Divvy in sheets have been made up and will now be available on each club night for both 'Away Wahay 4' and Skye/Applecrosss weekends. So if you have a spare fiver or you are even feeling flush and a tenner is 'floating'. Then feel free to speak to yer Gaz. Then over the weeks, you can put a little bit away and know that when the weekend comes, most of the expense is covered. See me each Monday, or if ah'm not there (unusual), then speak to Raymie or Twinloon.
Run dates: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Below noted additional / other weekend events have been added to the run listings. However, could all those likely to lead a run, please get in touch with Gavin; if that is of course, he has not been in touch with you - ooo err missus... !OOO
Spring Warmers: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Remember there is still - despite our official runs not starting until the end of April - three 'cob web blower offurrs' for those who haven't been grabbing the odd chance to get out on dry/salt free roads.
Dates are March 15th March 29th and April 12th...

AGM 'Seconds'
I'm saying seconds as not enough happened to call them minutes... Please see below pre AGM request (next item down below orange break line) for the help that was sought from members in doing the little bit that needs to be done to make things tick along.... The answer to this at the actual AGM, was a distictive lack of peeps stepping forward... and likewise ideas on new stuff, hardly any better.
However on the upside the atmosphere was nice and loose - always a good thing on such occasions and particularly in yer writers view ! Remember the golden rule, if ever anyone wants to actually be on 'the committee' then this fact alone should automatically ban the poor misguided and likely over officious 'all in the detail' annoying freak ! You know them; "I'll think you'll find in paragraph 4 sub-section two of the constitution what I've drafted... etc."
The reality then was our club has it well loose on committee malarky- which is grand. However this means that no one was willing to take on any kind of wee job for their club - well other than one or two.
The New Committee 2009OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Raymie iioi- Chairman iiOOOOOOOOOOOOOiiiiii: No other reluctant volunteers.OOO OO Gaz ooooii- Treasurer/Sec'/Web Words iiiioiiio: No other reluctant volunteers for any. Twinlooniii- Web Gallery & Build)ii OoiiiiioOOO : No other reluctant volunteers for each. Gavinoooii- Run Listing Organiser ooooooooiii : No other reluctant volunteers. Billoooooo- Clothing ooooooooooooooooooiiiii : No other reluctant volunteers. Triciakiooi- Ladies Rep' iiiiiiiooooooooooooooii : No other reluctant volunteers.
So from the above ye'll have spotted a trend: like a say not really all that good, but at least it's better than having a committee who would be mad keen on drawing up all kinds of rools an' regs etc...
But nevertheless; see next year... oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo COULD WE PLEASE HAVE A FEW MORE 'RELUCTANT VOLUNTEERS' .... oooooooooo please; to help out !?
Yer actual 'Seconds': ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo No news is good news as they say and given the 'relaxed' atmosphere. It seems that no one took minutes, not even the partime new Sec' ! So you'll have to make do with my dodgy recollections of near three weeks later... har har !
Run Listings - Weekends Away:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Gavin is looking to contact members who'll lead a run - that is if said 'likely' run leaders don't appear in the next couple of weeks on a club night. oooooooooooooo Main thing to grasp is all dates will remain as is on the present Run Listings except... NB: Dereks Skye/Applecross Weekend is the only date that may change. This is presently in September and if my memory serves me well Derek would like to bring this forward. Difficulty with this is that July is busy with the Kelso weekend and August, with the Away Wahay 4 and May has the North West 200. So the only likely month will be June - watch this space as peeps will need to save there pennies with four weekends away to factor in to this years recession hit pockets.
MAG
Affiliation:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO This
will be actioned as costs are limited to £30 and on using link to the
MAG website it is clear that irrespective of the benefits for all, in their
lobbying goverment on behalf of all bikers. There are also discounts available
and notably our club name and link to our website will then be on the MAG
website and available to many other clubs in the fraternity. So, who knows
we may get an invite to a rally or two... eh ! OOO
Aw naw... not another possible weekend away ! (see below) :-)
Other meeting club ideas were:
1. Thornhill SMRC Classic Scrambling - 4th/5th of July - We could take our new 'dogs bollocks' gazeebo. But this is unlikely as this weekend is only a week previous to Kelso. However, likely we'll still make for some presence, as it sounds like a fine and pleasurable weekend. The biggest bonus of which has to be slagging and enjoying Alec's efforts on his classic scrambler and for some, wishing we could be alongside him.OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo 2. Bob Mac' East Fortune - could be another trip on the weekend of 13th/14th of June. At the time of writing I'm not sure if this would be as two separate days for the club or if some may go for the weekend. If nothing else it would be good to make the 15th Sunday run an early start and head for East Fortune. As if it were another weekend away; then for this year anyway, it would likely be too many. oooooooooo 3. Shorter runs to specific venues - and then to spend time there. An idea to which the above Bob Mac' event fits into nicely. A key ingredient to this kind of Sunday run is that the destination venue must have sufficient interest for everyone on the run. An example might be; if I led a run to a conservation/native Scots Pine Woodland with no less than some of the original pines from the Caledonian Forest, would this be of interest to all; me thinks likely not ! :-) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 4. Club Patch - one member suggested returning to the clubs original patch of the 'Crossed bones on a blue background; the thinking being it more reflected our Saltire. However one issue around this is the re-writing / building of the website, not to mention new banners and new flags etc etc. So for this query, the suggester would have to take the matter forward themselves. The reason being, that the person who worked so hard to effect the present design and through all the interim designs and tweaks with the company concerned - would be reluctant to go backwards !i OOOO The existing design of patch for Rollin Bones of 'A Skeleton on a Bike' ... ? OOOOO Could anything be more apt for our bike club !? oooooooooooooo0000000000000000 5. 'T' Shirts other apparel / Large vinyl patches for the gazebo - Raymie is following these needs up, with I think Bill and John (the big daftie wan). So no doubt we'll here something or see a completion on this some time soon. One is a definite need - the big patches for the gazebo for Kelso and if used, maybe also the Bob Mac weekend.
That was about it - though if anyone can remember anything else, either contact me or Twinloon and I'll add it here.

*AGM 16th February*
Your club needs a few peeps who are willing enough to put in a wee bit of time every now and then,to keep your club ticking along... i So if you would like to help and do just a little bit.iiThen put yourself forward for a committee position (much appreciated by the way) and get in touch with Raymie on Mob: 07939540222

Toy Run
OOOOOOYorkhill Christmas Toy Run Sunday 21st Dec OOOOOO IIIIIIIIIO Meeting at Morrisons at 10.30am leave at 11.00am OOOOOOOOOOOArrive at Kelvin Way by 11.30am
Who is going you might ask ? Well at a guess, Yer Gaz would hope for at least twenty odd. But then maybe I'm ower optimistic. But with presently predicted dry weather on the day, the question might be... are we interested enough in the kids who'll be spending Christmas in Yorkhill !? :(I Of course we are; and one other point I nearly forgot, it's also guid craic. :)
On monies collected, we won't come close to our Easter MAG Egg Run total of £1135. But with a bit of effort on the day with our buckets at Kelvin Way, added to the monies raised by the good folks at the Christmas Party at the Kings Park (some £155) and we ought to clear well over £200. IBut a key point to remember, is there will be no winner other than the Yorkhill Children, so the importance is in the giving and not the amount.
Back to my unguarded optimism and my hoping to see 20 members along on the day. Possible dodgie characters for this could, or ought to be... Twinloon (Phonetic ?) with Violet and Scott; then also oor Raymie, Big Ross, Stevie, Derek, Bill, Auld John, Gavin, Greg and Lorraine, Jimbo, John and Tricia, Keith, Cameron, Ian and Christine and mebbe Alison and Brian... and hopefully any other members and freends who tag along on the day. As in, maybe oor Twinloon could take Stewart, our Honarary Member pillion ?
On the day or two before the run, I'll be sending round an e-mail to everyone, so if needed, get yer batt's charged !

Track Evening... a wee lookie !?
Can the followin peeps this wee note micht apply tae, please give me a bell ?
Jim Madden, Bill Glaister, Raymie, Twinloon, Stuart urr embdi else wanting to be there.
Intention is to leave Cambuslang this Friday around 4.00pm to go up to Knockhill as 'interested' spectators at this Friday's tracknight. The game plan is to have a wee evenin' lookin' at lines, brakin' points etc and to jist enjoy watchin' the bikes go round an' generally havin' a wee nicht oot wae some o' yer bikin' buddies..... any takers ???
As said if yer interested, ring me and we'll meet up - I'm defo goin' so ah'm waitin'.....
NB: It looks like yon Henry is richt an' we - sorry make that me - has cocked it up by not bookin' early enough for the track nights. In conversation wae the lass what takes to do wae runnin' them, it's clear they are now much much more popular than a few years ago...
So we'll likely not be on track for a club night until spring...sorry folks.

Knockhill BSB Superbikes...
Sunday 10th August
Times: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO All interested in going please arrive at Morrisons for 8.15am for an 8.30 departure. Tickets will be purchased on the day. If we get there say just before 10.00am... then we will not have to queue too much. But either way, buying tickets or not, a wee queue will still be a part of yer day. O
Parking:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NB: All parking will be free and at the track with no park and ride etc, as Knockhill now has a new car-park facility behind the track... but remember to bring a can or yer regular puck for yer stand.
Weather:Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Worth noting that the tickets that were on sale at the Superbikes in the Square (George) on Wednesday, were not any cheaper than Sunday's gate price. OOOOOOO But on the upside, waiting until Sunday will allow for a 'Knockhill Weather' decision on the Sunday morning.OIf it's not looking at all well - as in MET office report for Dunfermline is showers - read as constant rain at Knockhill... O Then the game plan is that all attendees can take oor Raymie up on his very kind an' generous invite.....
The invite bein', that if indeed the weather is dodgy... then we can all head up to the big fellah's to watch his tele'.... See, Raymie advises he has some good DVD's (er, of bike racing that is !) that'll entertain us 'til the first BSB race kicks off.
Breakfast Club: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo Oh an' if anyone has a mind furra bacon, egg, black pudding urr tattie scone roll... Then it seems Raymie's invite didnae mention food.... eh !? OOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO Now this may seem to those who know oor man, a bit strange ! But heh, as ye know; where there's a Raymie, there's bound to be food close by... arf arf ! O
Jocularities aside, we could mebbe help oor man out by crossing over the car park into Morrisons to pick up some scran supplies for up the road, or better still, we could jist grab an early mornin' brekkie while in there.
Butt size: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo Please note that indamannies loonge, arse space is limited to ah'd say... around 5 or mebbe 8 at a squeek, this is o' course dependent on how 'cheeky' the erses are.
See ya all on this sunny Sunday morn' ? :)

Trackday and 'ither news...

OOOOOOOOOOO Wit did a tell ye's...a knew ye wer makin' a mistake when ye kept tellin' Yer Gaz to no' book too early... jist in case numbers changed nearer the time. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I hope that's made it clear it wisnae ma fault... it wis yoo lot so it wis. arf arf !
Anyway, as indicated below, alternatives are available on both August 22nd and possibly also Sept 4th. The second date is still to be confirmed as yer man writes.
British Superbikes: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Please note the change of date for Raymie's run down to St Mary's Loch. OOOOOOO It'll now be on Aug 17th. (See Club Runs Listings) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO This is to enable those of us who.... O
a) Want to ...and with this want have... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO b) A fat enough wallet and... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO c) Also, have the all important ither half permission for a day permit... O
One that allows gettin up tae Knockhill to see the big boys playin' on their big scary Superbikes. Is this guid (?) oh aye, it's jist the ticket price puts me off.
Yarn updates for Away Wahay 3 and the Kelso weekend: OOOOOOOOOOOOOO Both blathers are imminent - as in this week or next - watch for em springin' oot o nowhere.....

Nae news is guid news !!!
A wee update from big club nicht for oany interested parties that may be reading.
KELSO Weekend:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO No news is available from the Club Big meeting, as Yer Gaz wasn't in attendance. OO As yet, no one has phoned with an update - an' ah'll be a monkey's uncle if anyone thinks ah'm gonnae chase the blether.OIt comes here of it's own accord, or not at all... so, nah nah ne nah nah !
Knockhill Trackday: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO One thing a can tell ye all; is the July Trackday is cancelled (probably). We or at least five off interested parties are first on the reserve/cancellation list. So places may yet be avail' but Yer Gaz thinks that it'll likely be too late in the day to secure the bodies and bikes to get up there; not to mention the spectators that wanted to come along. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

July 7th- Big Meeting (Kelso Weekend)
Tonight - Monday 7th July is yer monthly big meeting.
We need to know who is going and when on the KELSO WEEKEND - an email has been sent round all members who shared an e-mail contact. Raymie will be needing a hand to put up the new Gazeebo on the friday at Kelso.
Also on the agenda, will be tellin' ye all aboot oor spankin' new Gazeebo. Apparently ah' telt it's the dogs so it is - Raymie said it wiz a 2 for 1 offer he couldnae resist - he'll explain. He's also been tellin' me about a flagpole an' a skull an' crossbones !
Other stuff will be the upcomin trackday: By tommorow nicht Yer Gaz will ah'm told have found out if there are any places left to be booked: rumour is there'll be nane ! We'll find oot, oan the nicht, eh. Reason a think ther' willnae be oany, is down tae me hearin' Yer Gaz weengin' an' sayin' things like "But ye's said to wait till nearer the time...." - as if that's oany excuse !
Oan top o' the above is findin' names willin' to do some rideoouts - there is still four dates wae no nominated run leader or 'where to' !?

If you are sad and are actually waiting for some blather on the above weekend; then can Yer Gaz offer here through ma'sel, a wee apology. Away
Wahay 3 (Jun 20th -22nd):
Can all who are 'Away Wahaying' please be at Monday's meeting, please. Yer
man will have the maps of the full route available plus associated info' on
fuel stops, rests, scenic stops etc.
NB: Those going will be leaving at a definite 9.30am on Friday morning. So, please be there for 9.00am sharp.... peeps going are as follows.
Gaz

Mick ooi: the - Twinloon
Johniiiioi: the - Codger
Alan oiiii: the - Tall
Stevie ii: the - Ah'm back kid
Ross iiiiii: the - Amiable

Stuartoi: the - A cannae go noo (Ach ! ye'll

Ye'll see from the above that most unfortunately, Stuart cannae now go... boo hoo.
But on the updside there is mebbe now a spare place: that is unless our Ross steps into the void... havin' said that; the more the merrier. So, if anyone would still like to attend; remember ye can easy book yer ain beds..... jist call yer man here an let me know an Ross may well prefer to camp......
Mileage over the three days is around 750miles max and those going will be enjoying the finest o' Alba's bonnie roads. Going through Crieff, Blairgowrie, Braemar, Grantown on Spey, Inverness, Tain, John o Groats, Tongue, Durness, Ullapool, Strathcarron, Invergarry, Fort William, Tyndrum an home.... whit a weekend !!!
Marquee/Gazebo:
This is needed for the Kelso weekend and is as they say; 'in hand'. Though
a final decision is still being chewed on. The options being, whether to buy
cheap an cheerful, at around the £75 mark and replace nigh on every
year; or spend some bucks around £300 and purchase a quality unit -
yer man here, tends towards the latter, by the way. We'll keep ye posted.
Track
Day:
Yer Gaz has made no moves on this - too busy - but will upon return from Away
Wahay. Names are still as below - scroll down to earlier news if ye want to
check who is going etc.
Mag
/ Bimmff (BMF):
There has been no progress to date on our joining either the MAG or the BMF.
As far as yer writer is aware, there has not as yet, been an actual committee
meeting that would enable a decision on this, or even clarity on the other
matters above. Thing is, watch this space - it may happen one day !?
Recent
Runs and the NW200:
See reports now added under Events.
Bikesafe: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The requested Bikesafe presentation for a club night, will not be happenning this year. Feedback from the 'Boys in Blue' on their bikes, is that they are completely booked out. However RBMCC are now marked in for a presentation next year and then following this, some assessed rides - these will be drawn from a hat as they are costly and time consuming and hence only limited spaces are available.
